Beans, beans, wonderful fruit, the more you eat... you know how it goes. Had some wonderful wild rice and black beans for lunch. No aftereffects yet.
Seriously distracting me from my homework are the three sibs practicing their instruments- piano, violin, trumpet. Twenty minutes per person, per instrument (only one doing trumpet, thankfully). Oh the joys.
We're finally getting some rain. After a summer during which it seemed NO water fell from the sky, we've finally had several days of a light but almost continuous sprinkling. Maybe our empty creek will fill, and the fish will magically reappear.
Playing soccer I find that moves performed by other people, moves which I can only marvel at the impossibility of, turn out not to be so impossible. You've got to try, sit back and watch, try again, figure out what you aren't getting... then finally you figure it out, and can add it to your arsenal. Why can't life lessons be so easy as maneuvers in soccer, or tricks in a kayak? It's not so simple as adding them to the 'lessons learned' folder. You have to keep relearning the same things, it seems. Like that your back gets sore if you stay in bed too long. I've rediscovered this every morning this week. A good thing to be able to complain about ; )
The world of the imaginary is both a blessed escape and a dangerous delusion.
